Executive Functioning

Executive functioning skills allow students to plan, organize, manage time, regulate attention and emotions, and follow through on tasks. When these skills are challenging, academic demands, responsibilities, and growing independence can feel overwhelming for students and families.

At Manner of Speaking, we support executive functioning through individualized, strengths-based intervention that builds practical strategies for school, communication, and daily life.

We work with students and young adults who may experience challenges with:

  • Organization and planning

  • Task initiation and completion

  • Time management and prioritization

  • Flexible thinking and problem solving

  • Self-monitoring and attention

  • Emotional regulation

  • Independence with school and daily responsibilities

Executive functioning support focuses on developing systems, strategies, and language-based tools that promote independence, self-advocacy, and confidence across academic and real-world settings.

Services are available in person and via secure teletherapy sessions, depending on each student’s needs and goals.
